You didn't mention if you have any mods.....lowering the tire pressure and removing the airfilter from the air box helps. Don't forget to shut the traction control!!
Go into it with the attitude that your first run (at least) will be a "throw-away" while you settle down. Maybe think of it in terms of two runs for time with two practice runs first.
Sounds like you've gotten some good advice. Mine would be to drive out to a secluded area and do a few practice launches to see how it feels. That will help you figure out how to best reduce wheel spin. Also, remember the basics like weight reduction (remove all the crap you don't need from the trunk while you make your passes). I see you have Brembos so you don't have a spare to remove...but you can take out the fix-a-flat and anthing else extra. Also, run your gas tank down to about an eighth of a tank (at about 6lbs per gallon, keeping your tank low can really make a difference) .
