Default Ford racing manifold?

I would not plan on doing this until I am done with my roush fascia and rims, but are there good gains in the ford racing intake manifold? They claim 50hp (not rwhp) but is it true? or is it just a waste of $550?

This is the info I found:

"Part Description: Ford Racing introduces its latest high performance intake manifold for the 2005-2010 4.6-Liter Mustang 3-valve engine. The intake is designed to compliment hot cams, performance heads, added displacement or forced induction. When used with other Ford Racing components, it can extend the RPM band and increase airflow while losing minimal torque on the bottom end. Compared to the OE
manifold, the Ford Racing intake made 40 more horsepower at 6800 rpms."

It depends on what else you plan on doing? As is, no I don't think it will do you much good....unless you plan additional mods in the future.

It will definitely go good with cams and maybe a Vortech in the future!

40 hp at 6800 rpm is the key there. What does it make in the usable RPM range? 5, 10, maybe 15? I'd like to see the dyno.

I for one don't spin my motor past 6500.

$550 is a waste of money, stick that away into the blower fund. Most blowers replace the factory manifold anyways, well, I should rephrase that, most blowers you would want to use.
