If you get the Duplicolor kit it comes with a brush and cleaner. I didn't take the calipers off just tape off the areas around the calipers. The paint is realy thick so it's easy to keep it from getting on anything you don't want it on. Aply two or three coats the more the better. once you start on it you'll see how easy it is.
After ProCharger got done running the crap out of my car on their dyno, it needed new rear pads and rotors. I painted high temp silver on the hats and edges of the new rotor. As a result they still look new. No ugly rust to distract the eye. Quite nice actually.

I guess thats why they put those warning labels on products for dummies, common sense doesn't prevail anymore in this world.... Thats exactly what I meant, you can paint the edges and hat of rotor, get rid of the rust look. Here's a couple pix you asked for...
I did the same to my Baers, here's a pic of them out of the box
Here they are installed, after I polished the face, painted and cleared the body of the caliper. I went with a gray, since my car has plenty of flash on its own...
Pic of the stock fronts before the baers
