Default 2010 GT rough idle/stalling...

So tonight I'm sitting at a light and my tach starts jumping around. It dips down, almost cuts out, then bounces back up. It's fine when driving but as soon as I stop and push the clutch in it wants to cut out. I thought I heard these cars have issues with the alternators. The car has stalled out 3 times now and has not thrown a CEL. I only have 1,700 miles on the car!!! I'm so pissed. I came over from VW and might be going back. Sorry for the rant, just wondering if anybody might be able to share some thoughts. Only mod is Roush catback. Thanks.

my 05 did that and it was a dirty throttle body. car seems new to have that issue, take it in and have the dealer check it.

Sounds like it's still under warranty... go to the dealer.

+1

Could be a tank of poor quality fuel, dirty fuel filter, dirty TB, fuel pump or a number of other things. But at 1700 miles, those sound unlikely unless you REALLY put some trash in the tank.

Yeah, just take it to the dealer man. Every issue I've had with mine Ford has been great about taking care of it under warranty.

I only use 93, thanks. It's just irritating that it needs to go in with 1,700 miles.

It's not usual that the cars have that many problems with so few miles on the clock. I have almost 6000 miles on my 2011 and haven't hit any problems at all so far.

Plus after 5 years you'll immediately see why going Ford pays vs. VW

I know VW has a bad rep with horrible reliability, but the ones I have owned never had one issue. Is there anyway to adapt the throttle body on the 4.6, I thought about disconnecting the battery to reset the ecm.

Yeah I'd suggest at the very least disconnecting the battery for a little bit so that the car's idle will be relearned. It's no guarantee but it could be an easy fix to the problem

I've had that happen, but that was because of a loose fuelcap, it even threw a CEL once because of it. Still need to replace that cap, just haven't gotten to it yet. And if it's on right, it stays on for the most part.

The 2010's have a capless fuelfiller deal. So I doubt your issues are due to the capless fuelfiller not working properly.
