Default Turbo project... Transmission/Rear-End/Clutch?

I am currently working on a Hellion 76mm turbo and built engine with 8:1 compression and forged internals project. I am looking to be about 650 at the wheels as I'm understanding that the GT500 dual fuel pump only supports up to about 700rwhp. I have a Spec 2 clutch (which I know will not last long) and stock manual transmission with 4.10 gears. I am probably going to swap axles with a buddy of mine that has either 3.55 or 3.73 gears.

The main questions that I have are:

Approximately how much HP/TQ will the stock transmission support?
At what levels should you look at upgrading the rear end?
What are some good clutches to look at for this set-up?

Thanks in advance!

-Danny

Is yours the manual TR3650? If so, probably no more than maybe 400-500 BHP crank and similarly, maybe 400-500 ft-lbf crank before letting go. I am not sure but I know that to get 600 ft-lbf at the wheels, you will have to be pumping out maybe 700 ft-lbf torque at the crank?

You will have to go with an aftermarket tranny, like aTKO600, a TR56 Magnum, etc. to reliably push that much crank BHP and torque to get 600 ft-lbf at the wheels.

Jim,

Thanks for the heads-up. I was assuming that I would need to look at an upgraded tranny, but I don't see too many threads about people getting upgraded trannys when the go FI, although some of them aren't quite at the same power levels. Where would you recommend looking to get a decent deal on a TKO600 or TR56 Magnum?

What do you need 650 rwhp for? Very easy to get that much power......very hard and way more costly to use it.

So I can bring the groceries back home in time before the ice cream melts.

Honestly, I don't plan on running that much boost all the time. I just want to make sure that if/when I do,that things (for the most part) will stay together adequately. I have heard that the first thing that seems to go on the tranny is the input shaft. I am planning on upgrading the input shaft or looking at a better tranny altogether.
