Down to 2 SC Options ready to buy

I'm looking at either the Saleen stage 2 or the Roush 2.3L TVS and hvaing trouble choosing. I can get the TVS for around 5500 at AM(free tunes for life), 5700 tuned at VMP and the Saleen is 6k and really pushes the budget as I need to consider supporting mods. I have an xcal-2 so while it would be nice a new x3 is not absolutely necessary for me.

What does everyone think Roush or Saleen?

vmp TVs, that guy can tune the hell out of a Roush TVS or the M90 for that matter.

Ideally you're gonna want a dyno tune then rely on AM to send you tunes... You will make alot more power with a tune just for your car.

I agree Justin knows his chit, and thats about the only email tuner I will go to.

I've got an M90 like Shane above, so you could say I have the little brother to the 2.3L TVS & I LOVE my M90!!!! So yes that is a biased opinion, so NO bad against the Saleen, but the Roush Blowers are bad ass & they screem!!!

On a side note, if you are going to spend the money on a blower, get a custome tune. Remember an email tune is a general file that has worked across the board for most cars. That's what I had on my 08 while it was N/A. However, once I went FI, get the custom tune as ALL cars are different & you really want a pro to look at your car & see what it's doing throughout the RPM range, just my .02! Either way congrats, you will love going FI!!!!

i would do the TVS. although both will give about the same power with lower boost, the TVS has more room to grow.
as long as your block is stock with stock cams and heads, an email tune from VMP is very good. you can datalog and Justin can dial it in for you.
i have a VMP tune for my Whipple which works very well, along with 2 dyno tunes.

The problem about asking a question like this is that it depends upon who answers it...

If you get more TVS guys (which is happening) then naturally opinions are going to be based that way. The opposite will happen if more Saleen guys pop in.

I happen to have a Saleen (about 17k miles on it now) and I love it. That being said, I've never driven a car or been in one with a TVS so I have no basis of comparison, which I'm sure is the case for many others who will provide their opinion.

I think when push comes to shove, you can't go wrong with either one. Just pick one that best fits your wants and your budget and then buy the dang thing! :-)

it's a tough choice because they are both excellent units....

good luck choosing

Errr.... I believe it's pretty much the standard Saleen kit with a shaker air induction rather than the usual CAI.

It's an awesome kit and will make as much power as the normal Saleen (which is a lot) :icon_clapclap:
