well sherlock, if you watched a couple 302 videos of the new 2012 boss, a ford employee stated "This is the closest thing you can come to a race car....with a license plate"

Geez you guys really come down hard on people here..
And yes I am aware of that...
major fail on bolding,
and i did watch the video, I realize its an S but im just trying to say its performance for a 79k car doesn't seem great.
and i stated i was talking about a regular boss "...and im talking about the stock boss in general, not a suped up horsepower version"

I personally am not one for the exclusivity factor and thus am not willing to pay $80K for this trim of the Boss.

sorry didn't mean to be **** about it.
although i would not buy a Boss, i wouild rather mod a GT, but it is a great Mustang.
it proves that Ford can put together a fast car on the track and can run on the street.
it is way over priced IMO, but the limited production will dictate that, and people will buy it.
one thing i dont particularly care for is the track key.
its like changing the tune with a chip instead of a tuner using a key. sort of a selling gimmick.
and if you mod it, the keys wont work bc you'll have to retune it. but then again, who would mod the Boss?
me, i would!

Like the Boss 302R (Grand Am class), the Boss 302S (GTS class) is purely a race car. You can find it on Ford Racing Parts catalog as a "part" just like the Cobra Jet. It has no VIN, only a serial number. It's for racing only, not a trim package.

BTW the Boss 302 has 444 hp not 440. The 302R and 302S have different exhaust, no emissions, and run 97 octane Sunoco race gas and put out even more HP. The 302R runs in the Grand AM sports car challenge and the 302S is designed for the SCCA World Challenge series.

Don't get me wrong. This version of the track Boss totally rips straight from the factory. But the price mostly reflects the exclusivity factor; only 50 being made.
