They are pretty close as angrybits said, my money would still be on the vette. A CAI, tune and maybe some exhaust and I'd put the money on the stang. Either way it would be pretty close.
Agreed, but the 2011 GT is actually 3606lbs.
Car and Driver weighed theirs without the glass roof and it came in at 3550lbs.

The GT500 is about 3850.
The Camaro SS is about 3850
Challenger is about 4000

Gotchya, I just pulled that off the first website that popped up on google that looked halfway decent. I figured it was close enough for comparison. You should get yours to a track to settle the debate

Just get a Kenne Bell and DRs

Nuff said.

I remember a few summers back when I only had CAI, this older dude pulled up in a brand new Z06 and wanted to race. He paced me on the highway and then took off. Wow.. no kidding.. you pulled on a GT/CAI rofl. What a douche..

I have buddies with an 04 z06 and 06 c6. I am so ready to race them. With the DRs mine sticks so good, I dont think they will catch up. Eventually we will race later this year when our track finally reopens.

I ran into a vette that looked like from the late 90s the other day. He allowed me to cruise with him for a few minutes at about 80mph before we hit a red. Of course, he slaughtered my little 4 point 0, but it was still the highlight of the day.

OK, a fully fit out 2011 with the brembos is going to come in at about 3625 lbs, a 2011 standard come in at about 3590-3600 lbs. No 2011 comes in at 3550 normally loaded, that was the 2010 with the lighter 4.6 engine but with added chassis welding and support and interior work that made it heavier than the 2007-09's. The 2005-06 Mustang GT premiums came in fully loaded at 3510 lbs, and 3490 without the heavy sub woofer(shaker 1000 option).

So you have a fully fit out 2011 GT at around 3625 lbs, 3:31 gears or 3:71 gears @ 412 HP(360rwhp)

or a 3180lb Corvette with 436 HP, 445 lbs lighter than the Mustang = 45HP gain, so you really have a 481 HP car against a 412 HP car.

All things being equal with tire grip and driving, the Corvette will win every time easily.

Stop making ridiculous comparisons, our cars need to lose weight and the higher end versions have to be taken more seriously by Ford. The Corvette is far more nimble and fast because Chevy designs it that way from the start. Our rear suspension was slapped together after an executive at Ford decided the 05 wouldn't be getting IRS, and they had maybe 1 month to re-design the current one. Wake up Ford, Erik

Slapped together? Does the Boss have an IRS?

Just get a Kenne Bell and DRs

Very flattering to the corvette that you have to use forced induction and sticky tires to win.

I pulled up to a C6Z06 at a red light, last week. Seems like I am not the only one completely disinterested in street racing. We both pulled away very slowly. It was a race to see who could get into 5th gear first. I am usually in 5th gear by 40 mph.

lol thats awesome

Usually a sign of respect from both parties when both cars courteously take off at the same time while minding their own business.

.. unlike the guy that obviously tries to bait you in, power braking and revving, breaking the tires loose trying to egg you on for a race. Only to take off like a igiot and nearly taking out everyone in his path when the light turns green.

I love my GT but I am not delusional. It's gonna take a few mods to beat a ZO6 lulz
