Chrome 200 Amp Alternator Available!
Saw this recently at AM and other sites/stores. It's a 200A Chrome Alternator for 05-2010 V6 Mustangs. I've seen these for $249.99 for 135A versions.
Found this on ebay:

It's the exact same one shown on American Muscle's site except that it is 200A versus 135A. And it's $170! Will install tonight and post pics. I must say this is the purtiest piece of bling I've bought for the car. Oughta help compensate some for my ASP UDP.
Only wish it had some weight savings associated with it LOL! Speakin of which, my next mod will be my own patented helium baloon idea, which I'll get to once I get around to improving the aerodynamics of it all.

So what is the draw from a 130 amp alternator? If you need the amperage then you have to get it.

Note that the alternator only draws what is requested by the voltage regulator, plus the nominal parasitic drag load. That is accomplished by the regulator modulating the field coil voltage / current. More current on the field coil equals more output from the alternator.
So, adding a 200A alternator won't draw more hp unless required.

That's a great point wingless. I'll report on the performance of this alternator; i.e. won't crap out on me, etc. LOL Also, if I feel any performance robbing characteristics. But I thought it may complement the fact that I have a 25% UDP. Plus, this just screams quality; very nice chrome finish. But again, if chipping etc. occurs, I'll be the first to report it here. Def looks awesome tho.
