Scuff Mark on Black Spoiler...how to remove?
I purchased the same spoiler I currently have but in black from a guy on eBay who took it off his 2011. I received it yesterday and the box was smashed right in the center. When i opened the box the spoiler was packed with 2 large blocks of foam on each end and the spoiler nicely slid between them and elevated, however there was nothing protecting the spoiler.
When the top of the box crushed, it came down on the exposed spoiler, you can see the crease on the box matches up perfectly with the scuff on the spoiler.
You can not feel the blemish, however there is an obvious scuff on the clear coat. Is there a way to buff that out by hand? My concern is the spoiler is black so if I use anything abrasive it will scratch it and make it worse. The scuff is about 1/8" wide and about 3-4 inches long
Suggestions?

go to walmart..get a bottle of ultimate compund and a bottle of Swirl X..use the ultimate compound to remove the heavy stuff..then use the Swirl X to clean up any haze ultimate compound made..Use them on foam applicators and wipe clean with microfibers...This is the only thing I can think of for you to go buy locally and fix it quick.
if you want to order something I would get this
http://www.autogeek.net/polishing-pal.html
then use the ultimate compound with the orange pad..followed up by Swirl X on the white pad..then you can wax the car using the red pads.

Also, try Maguires ScratchX 2.0. It works great for even deep scuffs into the clearcoat. However, if the scuffs have penetrated the clear coat and into the paint, I do not know if there is anything you can do except to have it redone.

Try the mildest first and work your way to the meaner compounds.
Dont start mean to begin with. Be aware that the OEM clearcoat
is whisper thin. Dont go thru to the color basecoat or a repaint
is in your future.
A pic would be nice to actually see the damage that needs to be 'repaired'...

Everyone- Thanks for the suggestions. I used the Maguires ScratchX 2.0. It took a few attempts but eventually it worked pretty good! Washed the spoiler and then put a few coats of Zaino on it. Now I just need to get that double sided tape off of the bottom before I can put it on. That double sided tape is a pain in my a$$.

also if you get yourself some Poorboys White Diamond glaze..made for light color cars. It has cleaners and fillers and will help hide a little more of the imperfections..then lock it in with your Zaino so it doesnt wash off.
I also did the same thing..I took the tape off bottom of the spoiler and just used the bolts..4 bolts is plenty to hold it in place and if I need to remove it I wont ever have to fight with it
