Pissed about the FORD Spark Plugs!
#61
I have the next generation of modulars, the 5.0L Coyote modular. I am curious if the heads have been redesigned to reduce the broken plug risk?
After all, the Coyote heads have been redesigned from the ground up; 4V per cyl, designed for direct injection, and complete chamber redesign. It would have been stupid if the engineers did not also redesign it to greatly reduce the broken plug risk.

Which means, no spark plug issues...

Speaking of the Cammer, which the Coyote is bred from, IIRC, there was a 5.3L Cammer would you think this one would use the similar head design of the Cammer & Coyote? Therefore reduced broken plug risk?
On a side note, there was always rumors that the Coyote will replace even the 5.4L in the GT500 or whatever the new top trim will be called (Cobra resurrection?). If the Coyote makes its way into the top trim level, I wonder if the 5.3L Cammer turned Coyote would be such an engine to be used?

The 5.3L Cammer is a stroked version of the 5.0L Cammer. It has a 95.3mm stroke vs the 90mm stroke of the 5.0L Cammer.
I am sure you can preserve some high RPM revving ability at this stroke afterall, the 5.0L Coyotes are stroked at 92.7mm. The '12 Boss 302 can rev reliably to its redline of 7500 RPM, so I could see a Coyotefied version of the 5.3L Cammer revving to 7K RPM.
None the less, I am much more at ease knowing that my Coyote will not risk a broken plug

Anyway, you're plugged up right.

So...I started this thread and was furious at FORD but surprisingly,I went up for an oil change and asked them about it again, They are only going to charge me only $136 if the spark plugs break or not!!! That is less than the labor for a local car shop. I was surprised that they werent trying to be a "stealership". I am like soo happy right now!!!I take back all the whining lol.
