Boss.....7500 rpm's of 5.0 fun, kona blue for me...the 500 is too heavy almost 4k. ya the 500 has more hp but the boss is going to handle and sound great...

You know how I voted. I've never been interested in a blown engine, just my personal preference. One thing to consider is the resale value several years down the road. While I don't think the Boss is going to appreciate at all I do think it will hold it's value better than any of the other Mustangs in recent history. Why? Because like LostBoyz pointed it's the engine. That's the reason the original Boss cars and others like the original GT350 and 428 SCJ are so valuable. The engine. The 302R and 302S race cars are running the same engine. Just my opinion.

That's a tough decision....remember the 2000?1 Cobra R....an all out race car!! I still see those once in awhile and when I do I want one just as much as I did back in 2000?1!! I would probably go with the LS Boss over the GT500....most likely.
At this point in time you will have a hard time finding a Boss at MSRP let alone a LS.

The only way a Boss will hold its value is if you keep the miles off it and you don't Mod it at all. Which means your buying a car to keep locked up that you can't drive for the next 20+ years. Not what I would buy a car for....

Boss 302 for me without any question. To me, boosting and loading on mods to make you rocket down a quarter mile takes money more than talent. I haven't gotten into a ton of racing of either sort as of now, but if I had to choose I'd without a doubt rather fly through the twisties...not rocket down a quarter. Of course you'd suck at first, but that's the fun part, improving your times through getting feels for the course.

I'd love to have a Boss both for what it represents and for having a ton of fun at the track.

If you're referring to my comment that's not what I said. Reread my post.

the LS isn't an option for me personally, this will be a DD car and i have kids. You can still find normal boss cars in Texas at MSRP, but there aren't many. i think the only way any car holds value is if it has low miles and is hardly used. i buy to drive, so im not really concerned with resale value down the road. im really liking the boss at msrp if i can do something with my car. It's about 95% of the straight line performance of the gt500 for less money stock fro stock. granted that gt500 can get lots more power with a pulley and tune. somebody mentioned weight too, the normal boss is 3680 IIRc and the gt500 is 3800, roughly 200 pounds. that can easily be made moot by the driver's own weight and how much fuel is in the car when you line them up i would think. honestly i think with the track key and the launch control it brings to the boss on the street with average drivers the boss is going to be the quicker car stop light to stoplight.

I know what you said and my comment stands since its true for any car. When down the road you go to sell it a non-modded low mile one is the only one that will get some of its value back.

If i were you, I'd actually either

A. Keep my car (yours is awesome)

or

B. Get a regular 5.0, and mod it the way you want to. If you get suspension, intake, and a tune, you have boss performance for less money, and you can customize the car more to your liking.
