Default Damn Pennzoil

I'm pissed. After changing my cars over from Amsoil to Pennzoil Ultra, suddenly now it seems Pennzoil has discontinued Ultra. I did a lot or reading about Ultra and it seemed to me to be a great oil and reasonably priced at Wally World. Anybody know what's behind this move by Pennzoil? Did it just not sell?

Discontinuation of an oil is hardly a reason to raise your blood pressure, lots of good stuff out there.

Dunno but I'd have to suspect it's because they set themselves up for their own brands kind of competing with each other. Ultra wasn't that much better than their other synthetic - Platinum.

Just use the Platinum. Nothing wrong with it and they loved the stuff on bobistheoilguy.

I find that unusual, assuming that's true. I, too, had done some research and was seriously considering Ultra for my next SUV oil change (within the next week or so). And if that's true, I may try their Platinum or simply stick with the M1EP.

What makes you think they discontinued it? Just googled it and only found this thread...

Also went to pennzoil.com and they're pennzoil ultra locator says there are 5 locations with it within 10 miles of me including walmart.

Ultra is still on their website. Where do you get your information that it's discontinued? I use PP in my wife's Odyssey ... it's good stuff and pretty cheap at Walmart.

Spent over an hour reading Bob's 101's, very interesting indeed. Thanks for the link.

I used it once, odd that they discontinued it.
