This whole issue is moot. Every car is different. Every driver is different. And there's little to improve mileage that doesn't cost more than what you'd save in a year or 2 or 3 anyway.

Have you thought about hypermiling? I do about 60-75 miles per day round trip and when Im feeling a little guilty about mileage, I practive hypermiling and can get 32-35mpg.
The last 6-7 weeks, my average though on a 91 race is....lol...16mpg. But I've been driving it like I stole it recently too!

I have an 07 Mustang GT that is completely stock at the moment. I average 25 or 26 mpg daily, but get up to 29 or 30 when I'm cruising at about 65 mph. I just shift before I reach 2k rpms and just cruise. Don't get me wrong though.. . I listen to it too I just cruise a lot.

Thanks and get a life
for those who can afford 2...3...4...5 cars ...well or only drive 5 miles a day
for those who can only afford the best( two mustangs ) and drive them 100's of miles A DAY ( yes just turning 100,000 on the 06 ) gas IS an issue esp in Cal where reg is now 4.15 a gal.... yes 3 to 4 FULL tanks (14+ gal each) per week......
I will take you helpful people's advice and go back to the reg ...tune and try that in place of my custom......
THANKS ......

^ I know where you're coming from. A lot of people are feeling the tight squeeze of the gas price increase, whether they want to say it here or not. Many people bought these cars when gas prices were fair enough and the economy was booming. Things are different now and can become hard to maintain as a daily driver if you need to travel far. $60 every few days for gas is killer, unless you make that super income.
