Default 2005GT header + exhaust advice

Hey all,
i want to grab some headers, H or X pipe and exhaust packages and wanted some advice from the experts who have been there done that

I currenty have a C&L Intake and tune from Brenspeed running 93 octane in Toronto, Canada that i picked up in 2007.

what i want:
1> maximum power throughout the RPM range
2> not to hang low on the car, maximum clearance
3> has to pass an emissions test (i'll need high flow cats i guess)
4> NO DRONE! someone suggested a complete system and leaving the stock mufflers on.

It's a yearly driver, i also drive it in the winter so i'd need stainless, not ceramic coated so they won't rust away.

i've been looking at the Brenspeed site for the prebuilt packages and they all look decent but wanted to see what you guys recommend.

http://www.brenspeed.com/05-08-musta...t-package.html

open to all suggestions.

Forget the package deals..none of them have the hi flow cats that youll need. best setup would be kooks LTs with the kooks catted X or H pipe IMO. a little more pricey, but you get what you pay for. do you want to keep the stock mufflers?

Ok I'll take a look.
The packages have a drop down for high flow cats though

I'd like to keep exhaust noise to a minimum all the exhausts I've heard sound really good
But can get annoying real fast. I actually like the stock sound and if I get on the accelerator it gets nice and barky.

I'd be open to mufflers that will give a better agreesice sound but don't drone or annoy me

Sorry...didnt look at the drop down menu. kooks is still the best out there though. you definetly will want to go with stainless steel for longevity. id stay away from the pypes brand cause theyre cheap made in china headers. evreyone keeps saying theyre as good as kooks , but i say B.S. stock mufflers seem to soung ok with Lts ,so thats a good option.

LT's= long tubes. X pipe gives you a somewhat raspy sound while H pipe is pretty similar to stock.

get ceramic stainless steel. it'll help with engine temps and help it to look better longer.
you might want to check how they do the emissions tests exactly. you might fail with LT's.

I have no complaints with Pypes long tubes with an H pipe from brenspeed. I did have the HF cats too before I went FI. Keep the stock mufflers so it isnt too loud. FYI.....Brenspeed can cut the pipes before they ship you so the HF cats fit perfectly.
