also, does your friend have an accord? if so, sounds like someone is having buyers remorse and wishes they had a mustang :-)

19.8 this week mother ****ers. It's all in how you drive it. I never have below 17... even when I'm ripping on it over and over. I drive highways and also through downtown as my daily commute.

Although I have the 4.6L with 3.55's, I average 24-25 MPG highway cruising at 70-75 MPH; 27 MPG if i can keep it in the 55-60 MPH range. Around town I get about 18.

How well does that Accord cruise at 140 and how sweet does it look at ANY speed compared to the Stang?

For me, I average at about 17-18 mpg most of the time with my 93 Street tune. I have a pretty even split between highway, town, and backroad driving. Mine is also an automatic, which doesn't help at all.

I also found it funny that I swapped cars with my mother for a few days (I think I was heading to Cleveland for a concert, and I don't like having my car sit in a parking garage) and when I got it back, my gas milage somehow jumped up to like 23. I guess I just like to make it through the intersection first a little too much.

That is precisely what I tell everyone. Love it.

On road trips (highway driving, cruising speeds) I'm getting over 22. Which is fine with me. I don't really care what my city mpg's are since I'm usually rolling in the lowest gear anyway...don't care about conserving gas if I'm going for a joyride to the store or something.

Besides, a Stang will get you laid faster than an Accord...
