Went to the 1/8th tonight in SD
Took a trip out to Qualcomm Stadium/Racelegal.com here in San Diego tonight. Turns out going from 6000 ft down to sea level shaves about .5 seconds off your 1/8th time! Though the times still weren't great (due to lack of track prep) I had a lot of fun. I made 20+ passes tonight and tried everything to get the 60' down and nothing was working. I talked to a few other guys and they said that my 60' times were right on for this track on street tires. They said the only way to hook up is to get a pair of drag radials, which is true on any track, but even more so at this one. Also, about 20 ft in front of the finish line the rev limiter was kicking in for third gear. I tried shifting into fourth but it just lowered my time.
Top 4 runs of the night from worst to better...
60' 2.420
ET 9.047
MPH 86.53
60' 2.390
ET 9.019
MPH 86.87
60' 2.370
ET 8.977
MPH 87.03
60' 2.421
ET 8.853
MPH 87.03
Seeing as how everything was pretty consistent I'll be very interested to see what she will run with the new parts that are coming in. I'm hoping that the control arms will help with the wheel hop and spinning until I can get a set of wheels and drag radials.
