3.73's seem to be just right on an auto to get the best of both worlds (driving & fun)

Just go for the 4.10s unless you plan on getting a supercharger or the like anytime soon.

I went 3.73 on mine and it's a 5 SPD. I do have plans for s/c though. But it's enough gear for street use and still great on the highway.

My vote is for the 3.73's for the same reasons given by Son of 68.

Mine has 3.73 gears and they are perfect for a quick takeoff on the street and great for highway

i've heard that the 4.10's raise your 70mph cruise rpm's to 2500...i've also heard that your city mpg's improve a little...it's basically preference...i've heard people riding with a set of 4.10's and S/C and not having problems...i haven't heard a stang with 3.73 gears but it REALLY sounds MEAN with 4.10's...i'm going with 4.10's

I have 4:10's and I love them! 1st gear is short - I had 3:31's with a 5sp - now the car is insane...
I got a GREAT deal on my gear swap and have HAD NO problems...

I would do the 3.55s if I had an automatic. I don't like how short first gear is with the 4.10s and the freeway speed rpms. It would be a wasted gear in my opinion. And the tranny would shift two times before getting to 60mph. (If redline is 6500 I dont know don't own a 5.0) But thats just me. If I did 80% or more city driving I might go with the 3.73s. But all around, I'm thinking 3.55s are best for the auto 5.0 if you want to be able to lay anykind of power down with first gear and not get city mpg on the freeway.
