Noise coming from my transmission....
I have a 2012 mustang gt stick with 3.31 gears stock with just a window tint. There seems to be a whine noise coming from the stick shift ****. The sound is present when I'm in N idling. When I put my ear very close to the shifter **** I can hear it. Is this sound normal? Is the shifter **** suppose to be completely silent? or is this small amount of noise normal? The sound is more noticeable when I'm in 4th gear going 10mph and trying to accelerate. This occurs because of skip shift. I know you're not suppose to be in 4th gear going 10mph but what is this noise and is it normal? It's not loud at all, on a scale of 1-10 I'd say it's a 3, 10 being loudest. I have noticed this whine noise since I bought the car. Anyone know what it is and if it's normal or not?

Hi Will3212,
I suggest trying to shift in the recommended guidelines posted on page 222 of the owner's manual. When skip shift mode is active, you should be shifting to fourth at 17mph. If that does not lessen the buzzing, then I recommend you have the dealer take a look to see why it is making noise. They are in the best position to diagnose the concern.
