Default Selling My Mustang

The one day we all hate having to come to is the day we decide to sell our mustang. Sadly Situations have changed in a years time but i must sell my 2010 Mustang Gt with the track pack and only 13k... Spoke with a dealership on the phone yesterday they are suppose to give me a call back today with what they could do for me on it. Any ideas what you guys think its worth or what I should get for it? My estimation is no less than 27 as the trade in value on kbb is 27,500...

If you sell it back to the dealership I doubt they give you anywhere near that. If you need to sell it for money, try selling it on your own.

And good luck with that. Where I am NOBODY is buying hardtops. Mine has been for sale for 2 months and I've gotten NO offers, but several people saying "If only it was a convertible..."

Hardtops outsell convertibles, just look at sales numbers.

I understand your pain with selling your car. KBB might be $27k, but you're not going to get that from a dealership. You're probably going to take a 10-15% lose from that value. Usually, the only time dealerships will get you close to the book value is if you're buying another car, which they can manipulate the numbers on.

you're better off selling it on your own, unless you are trying to get into a more economic car, i'd trade it in towards that car...reason being you would pay less taxes on the new car...but if you are just selling it to sell it, i'm sure you can find a home for that beauty

What do you have in total in that car? I think you're going to have a problem getting 27K...being that 2011 5.0s are selling for that, at least the base ones. Base 2010 GTs have been going as low as 23k-24k...retail, not even trade in.

Local dealer just sold a used 2010, Grabber blue, glass roof, leather, manual with just over one thousand miles for 23200.00. Had been sitting there almost 6 months. I looked at it a couple months back but opted to hold out for something with the new 5.0. Just not the economy for toys. And if you can't drive it all year long that is just what it is for most.

I'm in 26 on the car... Ive had it listed locally and had a couple calls but they have been the guys who call every ad in the paper. I don't have to get rid of it like right now... Just have some things coming up (baby on the way) need to get my finances in line. and 480 a month can go along way... I have a 97 jeep wrangler that runs great and was my daily driver until i got the mustang itch again lol so just exploring the possibilities. love the car but got to do the responsible thing...
