Mine is pretty noisy too, but definitely has no rattle at shut off...

The 2200SL is self lubricated, it has its own oil contained within it.


Im running 1 step colder Brisk plugs gapped @ .32...

Interesting, I am not as worried now after hearing another unit that sounds identical to mine. I guess I'll just see if they can get it tuned and making power and go from there. The rattling on shut off still concerns me though. It sounds worse than in the video I posted.

I haven't really been messing with this lately but the other day I came to the realization that I had taken several videos of the car before I noticed this noise coming from the S/C unit and noticed that it was not present in these videos. I also know for a fact that it didn't make the rattle noise at that point in time because it's an even more obvious noise that I would have noticed.

I am thinking that even though a few other people's units are making this noise, it's NOT normal. Especially because of the horrible noise when shutting the car off.

Hopefully will be able to send it in soon to get fixed.

Sorry to bump this old thread, but my 2009 2200sl is doing this churning/chugging sound that I have heard in Jas5/GBurke1's videos. I cant find much more info on this, anyone know if anything ever came of this? No shut off rattle for me.
