You don't need to buy new sensors; you only need the band kits if you want to reinstall the sensors in new wheels. For the pipe route, just remove the sensors from the OE wheels and put in the tube.

I beleive the $60 that was mentioned is to purchase the 4 band kits. IMO, that's relatively cheap in order to maintain the factory system vs having a pressurized missle (a 32 PSI tire will rupture violently as will a pipe) in your trunk. To each his own.

sorry i meant reset button.
i dont have the TPS sensors since switching rims.
so i get the warning message on my speedo.
i press the reset button and the message goes away until i start the Mustang again.
not having the TPS sensors doesnt do anything bad for your Mustang, it just gives you the warning message until you press the reset button.
this extra step when i start my Mustang really doesn't bother me at all.
i think the TPS system is a load of garbage that just costs us extra when we change rims.
shame on the US for making it a requirement on newer cars.

the reset button is right next to the TCS button on the dash.
right in the center of the dash right side of the gauge cluster.
whatever warning message you get below the speedo, like low fuel warning, you press that reset button and it'll clear whatever warning message is there.

This wont work. The TPMS sensors have to transmit a signal to the SJB at a given G-force, which typically occurs around 15-20 MPH. The switches inside the sensors will never close while sitting in a pipe as they will never experience the G-force required, and the TPMS lamp will eventually illuminate.

What exactly powers the sensors that are in the tires? I mean, they need to send some sort of signal when low pressure is sensed, where is the power to send the signal?

I don't think your correct. If that were the case, it sitting in someones garage over the winter would make the light come on. I don't think so

They have batteries in them that should last about 5 years or more.
