Default 7K on a cold start

So it happened today... I got in my car a few minutes ago to drive home from work and as soon as I turned onto the highway I opened it up all the way but the engine wasn't at optimal operating temperature yet.

Keeping in mind it wasn't cold out, probably 70-80 ambient air temperature, but I'm still curious how this effects the engine.

Obviously long term stressing of the engine while it is cold is potentially damaging, but could this once instance have caused any significant issues or wear I should be aware of?

You are fine as long as you didn't notice anything bad happen.
I doubt you kept it there long.

Wow holy smokes. Someone that is actually more paranoid than me has joined the forums!
(Look at my nickname in my avatar, I didn't get it for nothing lol.)

Don't worry you are fine.
And since we haven't met....Welcome to the forums!

I'm paranoid but I am still pretty knowledgable.
Not a tech, and there are more knowledgable ppl here,
but I can hold my own so if you ever need help msg me.
Note though...going to 7k RPM is not good on the engine in any temp, so don't make it a habit

Again you should be fine as long as you didnt notice anything happen. relax

I really hate those days when the car forces you to do something like that...

It really chaps my hide to have to wait for the needle to get to the green! I afraid I occasionally am guilty of this too, although not intentionally!

I always avoid doing this, especially in the winter.
