GT500 vs New 5.0
#161
If you can afford the gt500, get it. Its that simple. The 5.0 is still a nice *** car. The upgraded interior versus the 05-09 MORE than makes up for the rear end (which is growing on me). And damn these 400+ horses are always ready to play.

Yawn! Location, Location, Location....and the right time!
Never said anything about losing, you assumed that. He did have the car tuned for it. We haven't had a chance to race on his 200 shot. When he found out about some mods I added a few months back, he knew to up the boost or receive lengths. Now his car is apart again getting a Centri supercharger upgrade. He is tired of filling nitrous bottles.
No TVS 5.0 cars in our area yet, but the guy who tucked his tail and ran away after his loss is talking about that upgrade. Won't matter, I'm about to install a TVS upgrade myself with 18 psi and fuel system upgrades. I can make up for the weight disadvantage with more power. My engine can hold more power safely than the new 5.0 will. To make as much power as I can safely.....enjoy buying all that race fuel. I do it all day long on pump gas.
I like most people on forums, but the people that really **** me off are the ones who make vague references to pwning some *** on the street and no real 1/4 mile numbers to back it up.
His car will run 9's when all is said and done. Don't knock it yet, he just completed the build.
Well, I can beat you on the street and the track, so calling me names only implies jealousy.

You remind me of the guy with the stock Shelby GT, '07, talking a lot of smack to me claiming his car+trailer+truck was worth 200,000 and how he's never lost a race. He wouldn't race me in my 2007 GT.

wow,....talk about a thread going south.... hey Pascal...may want to go ahead and lock this thread...the OP made his choice and Mishiri is bragging about the size of his **** and his ability to try and bash people who made individual choices and bought the car they want....
No disrespect Mishiri.....but it is awesome that you own a 5.0 and obviously you chose it because that was the car you wanted.... The op came back on here and stated he is choosing the car he wants.... I chose the car I want... now just move along.... no sense in coming here to continue to bash gt500's and their owners...seriously....if you want to have a sidebar conversation with one poster...then thats what PM is for...but to come here and make statements like gt500 owners buy their cars to show off or brag or whatever term you used serves what purpose??...I as a gt500 owner never ONCE said 5.0 owners are this or that...in fact I said how great the 5.0 is....my brother owns one...stop making this a contest for whose is bigger by implying that.... Good luck with your 5.0
good luck with your ability to drag race (always stay safe)
have a wonderful day..now go beat up on some GTO and vettes and other cars with your 5.0 beast.....
This thread is dead

Chef! He's still upset about all that race fuel he's been sniffin' to achieve 700 rwhp with boost in the teens from the standard 5.0 mill.
I have a lot of respect for the new Boss 5.0 versions though. They have serious potential.
IMO, the standard 5.0 is going to be showing it's ugly explosive limitations sooner than we think at the power levels standard 5.0 owners are boasting about. The GT500 has been proven since 2007, while the standard 5.0 has had less than 1 year.
...and why should I worry about 3V 4.6L engines? Unless it's a forged bottom end, it's pointless to race one. They can't handle safe power levels past 500 with stock internals.
