07-10 GT vs 11-12 V6

I like the new body style for the most part. Not too fond of the rear but it doesnt look bad. Im leaning towards the 2010 GT. Im just intoxicated with grabber blue I guess which strays me away from the 07-09. Only problem is the dealers around here really overprice the 2010's for some reason. Funny thing is now that Im looking into a new car all of the sudden Trans Ams keep popping up around me. Been in love with WS6 Trans Ams for along time now. Its gonna end up being a tough decison in the end.

I was faced with the same decision recently. I opted for a new 2010 GT Premium. There are still a few around. It was fully loaded with Track Pack I (the 3.73 axle package) and 19" wheels. The MSRP was $38k and I got it for $27k. Dollar for dollar is was the better choice for me.

lol maybe. but the gt is faster, most prefer the sound of the v8 (that part is probably the biased part) and you can get a older s197 gt cheaper than a 11-12 v6.
unless fuel economy is a major concern (your looking at mustangs, it shouldn't be) there's no logical reason to get the v6. that being said if you consider you will be paying more for the newer v6 then you would for an older gt, its likely to offset any gains in fuel economy by increasing your monthly payment. also you can always take the money you save with the older gt and buy a cheap 4 cyl econobox
so really how can you argue for the v6? unless a v6 just gets you all hot and bothered.
how can you argue with this logic, the v8 just makes more economical sense.

I wouldn't say it's biased. I drive a v6. I would've taken a v8 if I could have afforded it at the time. I've been considering the option of 2011 GT vs 05-10 GT for the past year. Nothing beats that v8 rumble, whether you have a 5.0 or 4.6. And fuel economy? Gas prices are starting to tick up yet again. What's the difference if you're paying 150 bucks to fill up your tank vs 130 bucks in a couple of years?
Now it's down to insurance costs and styling. Insurance will undoubtedly be cheaper for the older GT. Car has sold well and there are plenty of extra parts out there that insurance companies love to use in case of accidents. The new S197 body style hasn't been around that long, therefore, parts will cost more, damages will cost more.
Styling is on you.
I think when it comes down to it, I chose the v8 option because there is nothing like hearing a 2005 GT idling down the street with a borla exhaust and a bigger cam. It scares the **** out of women and young children and makes ricers feel even more insecure. I'll probably end up with a used 2010 or 2009 GT in a couple years. Then let the modding begin. Again.
