275/35/18 tires on 18x9 wheels??
#2
9" is the minimum recommended width wheel, so it's (just barely) a generally acceptable combination.
Are you aware that this tire size is about an inch and a half shorter than most of the OE tire sizes, and that it's probably a load index or two smaller as well? If you can cope with the appearance of that first item, you can tinker with inflation pressure to cover for the second (run slightly higher).

I wouldnt think they would give you any trouble, but damn they are small dude...like 25.5" diameter. If you are dropped they would look alright but on a stock suspension they would look tiny.
Hope this helps.

Agreed that 275's are the safe max on a 9" wide wheel.
And agreed that 35's are too small, besides the fact that I think anything less than 50 series looks like azz on our Stangs. 275-40's or better yet, 275-45's are the ticket. The 45's will put you about as close to the stock OD as a 275 can.

The 35's would look small. A more common size with 275 width tires is 40.
Concerning the odometer reading, if that is a priority then you want to go with a tire size that will be the same (or closest to it) diameter as stock...so basically +1 to the above posts.

If I thought OP was thinking about autocrossing in STU, the tire size by itself starts to makes a little sense (against the 285 class maximum). But the 9" wheel width would be giving away too much (against no specified limit) to stop there.
Down a step into STX, the 9" rim width is the max for that class so now the wheel is good. But the 275-wide tire is over the 265 class max there.
For street duty though, other than already having the wheels, needing tires, and simply falling into a deal on 275/35's too good to pass up, 275/40's, 255/45's, or even 265/40's would all be better choices.

I currently have 275/35R18's on mine with 18x9 wheels and before I lowered it, it looked stupid, tire/fender gap was huge. Lowered it, then lowered the front a bit more and it looked better. But combined with the small tire and the drop, it scraped on everything. Probably going to throw 275/40 Brigestone RE-11's on there next, and if I feel like putting out the cash, maybe a set of 285/35R18 Hankook RS3's and a set of 18x10 Steeda Ultralites from Sam Strano, since when I autocross, I run STU. Sorry for the run-on sentence.

Thanks for the responses. I agree that 35 is thin and Im not even sure if I would wanna run 275s on the front. Right now im running 255/45/18 front and 285/40/18 back and I think it looks fine and works fine. I was just looking to get a new setup and someone was selling some GT500s wheels 18x9 with 275/35/18s on the front and 18x10 with 285/35/18s on the back. I was curious what peoples opinions were on the size of tires.
