Default SS Mustang: Oil Catch Can Rubber Cap...

The little rubber thingy is pushed off by blow-by air out of the closed valve...does that make any sense, if anything there should be a vacuum if the valve was leaking?

Yes, after driving a bit, I find that the drain rubber thingy is missing. Last night I noticed it was pushed forward, barely hanging on, which would seem to indicate that positive pressure is blowing it off?

odd it looks in that pic like theres a valve in the closed postition so I would think that its just a cap over a closed tube till you open the valve

yes it does look like a valve over the drain.
should prevent the drain from getting blown off.
you could try a small hose clamp on it. idk how small it is.

Is the valve leaking? If it was, you would notice oil dripping out of it.

If it is not, then any blow-bythat might be occurring wouldn't push the rubber "nipple" off. Perhaps it's just the heat in the engine compartment heating up the air in the drain tube, causing it to expand and push the rubber plug off? Just a thought.

I don't think it's leaking, but I'll check for oil....crazy!
