Tire recommendation please (replacing BFG KDWS)

Richmod,
I might be able to comment on both of your thoughts.....I have an '05 which came with 17" Pirelli P-Zero Neros. Have to say it was a pretty good tire and I was impressed to find this level of tire on my vehicle as a OEM tire.
I also purchased a set of 18" Fanblades from a fellow forum member and bought a set of Continental DWSs...this is another tire of which I am quiet impressed with. It is an all-weather tire and will never see snow, but I can positively comment on the tires dry and wet grip abilities. Also very quiet for the type of tire it is running them at factory tire pressure recommendations.
Both of these tires rank high on Tire Rack's customer surveys. The Conti is higher in price, but in my opinion, worth the cost...Pirelli P-Zero Neros come in the 235/50R18 size as well.
My research narrowed my decision down to these two tires.
Good Luck with your decisions.

My g/f has the OE Pirelli P-Zero Nero A/S's on her '06 Pony and she's quite impressed with them for the price, especially considering that she has a lead foot. She says they've been good to her in the rain. I've driven her car on a few occasions and can't complain. As long as you're not doing any track or auto-x, they're a reasonable tire for someone on a budget, IMO.

To save some money, you might consider also the Sumitomo HTR A/S. THey get excellent reviews in Consumer Reports--better than the review on Tirerack. CR ranks them just behind the Pirellis and ahead of the Michelins. I am thinking about getting these myself. There may be some wear issues. Haven't decided yet.

I'm running Yokohama S. drive and they work fine for what we do with the car...
$130 on tire rack in 235/50-17 size.
Avoid Sumitomos as they wear out quick and don't grab all that good.
I heard good things about Hancook for the price (very appealing) but have no personal experience with them.
If it was me, I'd go with 255s size since the prices are pretty much the same.

I replaced my OEM KDWS with the Pirelli P-Zeros that come stock on 2010+ Stangs. They are grippier than the KDWS both Dry and Wet (especially wet).
I like the BFG KDW but I can't justify the price considering they typically last between 20-25K miles and moderate driving style.
