First oil change to Mobil 1. Which filter?
#22
I have been using Mobil1 and K&N filters for many years. I believe Royal Purple oil filters to now be the top notch oil filter available. As of now I believe that Pep Boys and American Muscle are the only two large outlets for me to get one.
New mini documentary regarding their process comparatively on Speed Chanel, maybe YouTube also.

Finally went with Mobil 1 EP 5w-20 and a Mobil 1 EP filter. (kept the pureone filter for next time maybe).
So far so good. (the original oil looked really dark...)
btw- I know this is a topic that depends on everyone's experience because I am sure there are many options as good or better - and a lot of previous posts. Just want to thank everyone for your valuable input, comments, and advice in helping me make my choice.

Dark oil is NOT an indication of oil that has lost it's protective and lubricating properties. I've seen oil black as the ace of spades at 3,000 miles continue to test fine at 15,000 miles.
I always get a kick from people that change their oil solely because it was black. Makes me sorry I didn't buy stock years ago.
