Default How many quarts for 2011 GT?

My owner's manual says 6 quarts of oil for my 2011 GT 6spd.

However - While doing research here (the best source) and several articles, I have seen the statement that the 2011 GT requires 8 quarts...

Doing my first oil change this weekend and I assume the manual is correct - 6 quarts. Just wanted confirmation from here if possible because I bought 7 quarts. Thank you all for your help as always..

The manual is incorrect. Must've been one of the earlier printings because mine quotes 8 quarts. I changed my oil in the winter and the car definitely enjoyed all 8 quarts. If you feel like it doesn't want to swallow it all right away, give it 5 minutes and then check the oil again and add as needed but in the end 8 quarts is the fill

My manual says 8 quarts, as does the factory manual.

Maybe you should contact Ford Customer Service and ask for a correct copy of the owner's manual. If it has the engine oil capacity wrong, there might be other significant errors.

Glad I asked. Also verified with Ford Customer Service and they confirmed that it is 8 quarts. Thank you!

I see they are up to the 3rd printing of the owners manual.... They said I could access it online but I will ask them if they can send me a new manual.

Hmm, I checked all 3 manuals, and they all say 6 quarts for the 3.7L engine, and 8 quarts for the 5.0L engine. Here is the link to the 3rd printing, and the specs are on page 305. To have a hard copy sent to you, call 800.392.FORD.

Thanks Natasha.

The link doesn't work for me though...

I get:
