Question Chrome e-brake handle cover from AM (Issues)

I ordered my chrome e-brake handle cover back in Dec. of 2010 from AM. The installation was very simple and the product was in excellent shape. Over the last 5 months or so, I noticed little marks on the top and part of the sides, which resembles tiny dent marks. I very rarely use the e-brake and do not wear any jewelry on my right hand/wrist.

Anyone else experiencing this issue?

It has been extremely hot this summer and am wondering if the heat cause issues with the chrome chemicals or something?

Any thoughts?

I am at work. I will take pics and upload later this evening. =-)
They look like tiny indentions, almost as if you took a pen tip and tapped on the chrome.

Is it all metal or chrome plated plastic? The pics could possibly help reveal if it's pitting due to the chemistry of the oil from your hand.

The e-brake handle is heavy, therefore I would assume it is all metal/chrome. I was wondering what would cause the chrome to pit.

Call up AM and tell them about the problem. They might give you a new one. Or you can try the actual company that makes the handle.

^^Thanks for the suggestion^^ I called AM, spoke to customer service and explained the issue on the chrome handle and it is pitting. They will be sending me out a new one and it will arrive sometime late next week. Great customer service, as always! two thumbs up for AM!

Sweet. I was going to recommend trying a chrome polish to see if they were just surface marks but.... no need to bother now.
