Default Low oil pressure.....need help!!

Hi everyone,

Well everything started 3 weeks ago after pumping gas at a Chevron. I drove it for about 2 miles and then it started to feel like it was losing power. I began hearing a knocking and the rpms were dropping. I decided to drive it slow back home and then to the shop which is not far from my house. The mech at the shop checked the cam phasers, camshaft sensors, oil pump and the VCT selenoid. They couldnt find anything wrong with those parts. The car still drives the same and i'm getting frustrated. They've been talking with ford the whole time they've had the car and Ford is running out of options ( so they say). I know its repairable but its taking a bit longer than expected. I've done some research and I've read other posts of people having the same problem but yet no solution, Any input is greatly appreciated.

Car has 63k miles so i dont have warranty anymore.

Car specs:
2008 mustang gt
engine 4.6
MAC Exhaust
Injen CAI
Predator tuner

Did the SES light come on? Have you burned out all of the fuel you got at the Chevron station and refilled from another place with fresh fuel. Also, change your fuel filter if you haven't done that already.

Do you know what your oil pressure is reading at idle and under various driving conditions?

Yes i've burned all the fuel from chevron and i got new fuel from Shell. The mech told me the oil pressure at idle was 15,000psi and 60,000psi at 3k rpm. He said the idle pressure was too low. I havent changed the fuel filter but i'll get on it ASAP.

this appears to be one of the rare times, when a trip to
the Ford service shop is warranted. at least let them
troubleshoot it, then you will know what is going on.

I'm hoping he said 15psi-60psi lol. If he really thinks its putting 15,000psi at idle then move on to another shop .

Is the check engine light on? Have you had it checked for any lingering codes?

i'm sorry, yes its 15 psi. lol they did check the codes and it was showing the camshaft sensor code, also a misfire in cylinder #5. I just called today and they still dont have a solution to the problem. I am going to take it to Ford as soon as i get a chance from work. This shop is worthless and the guy can't seem to explain himslef with clarity.
