am i only one who hates stock rims?

If I had been able to get my car ordered with a set of the '08 GT500 wheels and four GT500 front tires, I'd have done so (and I did try, but the dealership wouldn't go for it). This would have almost been as much for the appearance as for the extra inch wider. Took me close to three years to get there on my own.
I don't think the shiny Torque-thrust/Bullitt style wheels are bad looking, just a little too common and a little too shiny for my taste.

One of the main reasons I bought a C/S was the wheels. I still prefer aftermarket wheels but the C/S wheels were by far my favorites out of all the stock wheels. If they just made them staggered and wider in the back so they didn't sit so far inside the fenders they'd be perfect for me.

Call me crazy, but I loved my stock Fanblades when I had them on....I just wanted a bigger wheel out back for a little more meat so I went with the GT500 takeoffs. IMO stock Fanblades/GT500 Take Offs are the two best looking OEM rims.
I do love some of the aftermarket...but I also have that soft spot for some original equipment.

IM NOT A STOCK RIM GUY
GONE THROUGH MAYBE 10 SETS ALREADY AND MORE TO COME
I had my stockers for 3 days. I actually sold them to a guy at the dealer before I drove it home. He picked them up after my rims were mounted and balanced. Most stock rims are undersized and take away with the exception of a few cars that have stepped up and look nice from factory. Some of the higher models (M & AMG) BMWs and Benzes, GT500 SVT kits, Corvette Z06 and ZR1,........................

They seem undersized relative to the tire sizes that are available now, as are the OE tires themselves. That's for weight and inertia reasons as confronted by the mfrs in meeting the various EPA and other requirements, not just because those sizes were the first choice of the engineering team or the first set that didn't give the bean-counters a stroke.
There was a time not all that far back when even big-block Corvettes didn't have 8.5" wide OE wheels.
(10 sets already? Good grief. Isn't it about time you found wheels you like well enough to keep? )
