Default 2012 Ford Mustang GT Short Shifter+ Exhaust

Hey guys and girls

Well the time has come, my new GT/CS will be here on saturday.

I was wondering if anyone had any input on shifters. I LOVE the look of the hurst shifter but also have heard great things about the barton shifter.

Also the fight continues inside for axle back vs. catback. I want something loud but not loud enough for every cop in my town to hear me. I was looking at the roush axlebacks vs the hushpower cat back. any input is appriciated!!!

Man i gotta stop filling up my american muscle shopping cart....my fiance is not gonna enjoy her christmas

My favorite shifter and many others on this forum as well is the MGW shifter.
They are the most adjustable shifters out there. You can even adjust how high or low the shifter is. It has a HUGE range of choice in what percentage shift change you want.

It is also a SOLID shifter. It wont shake or vibrate on you at all and is quiet as a mouse. We had cams in our 06GT and it still was firm as can be with no sound.
By FAR the best shifter I have ever used or tried and I've sampled all of em.

Not sure if MGW makes a shifter for the new 5.0 yet though.

I'd go with axle back.
save the rest of the exhaust for if you want to add aftermarket long tubes down the road.

Not sure how loud you mean because the Roush ones are not really considered loud.
They do have a nice volume over stock from what I have heard though.

Last week I had MGW put the short throw on my 2011. It is an awesome shifter! It makes driving the car even more fun. Just talked my mother in to getting one on her 2011 Roush.

I highly recommend the Roush axle backs. Quiet when cruising, nice aggressive sound when accelerating normally and they scream when you get into the throttle. I would also wait for the release of the MGW shifter.

I just recently installed the Steeda axle back on my car and it sounds pretty sweet. Not sure if you are looking for another suggestion, but this video won me over.

No drone what so ever. Just a great sounding exhaust.

I also heard good things about the Steeda tri ax short throw shifter. Alot of the guys I drive with have this shifter on thier car. They are very pleased with the results.

Just a thought..

So uh ... how much shorter do you want your shift .... it is already short enough ... you will see and I have a 3" cat back no muffler exhaust and I love it ... (3" x-pipe after cats)

Btw my exhaust only cost $200 ...
