Yeah Jim said it was no problem to drive to the shop with the stock exhaust setup. He said if anything the only thing its going to do is richen up the air/fuel a bit which isnt a bad thing and its only a 30 min drive on the highway. I am just going to remove them this way I dont have to deal with any more problems/leaks or anything. Its a lot of work but if I have to change out the ****ty pypes header gasket, I might as well just put the stock system back.

FYI I passed NYS inspection this am. I have been tossing a P0430 but cleared it then drove 10 miles , sat overnight and went the inpsction station and all is good.

I have Kooks longtubes and Kooks cats with a JDM tune

Can I take my current o/r x pipe and my stock h pipe (with cats) to an exhaust shop and just have them put the stock cats onto the o/r x pipe? This way I can just keep the headers and use the stock cats so it both quiets the car down and I have no problems passing inspection.

or would these cats work good since they too are metallic, than just have JDM turn on my rear 02's when I have them dyno tune it.

I also have to work on fixing my exhaust leak, which still involves loosening all the header bolts and change the gaskets out. I originally put the gaskets supplied by pypes when I installed the headers, but I think they developed a leak so I am going to put the oem ones back in with a little bit of copper high temp rtv
