Default Automatic Jerk/Clunk Shifting from 1st to 2nd?

I couldn't find anything on this, but I've noticed my slushbox under some circumstances will have a weird clunk or jerk going from first gear to second under light acceleration.

If feels almost like when you drive a manual, change gears, and don't give it enough gas. It gives the gear change an almost "rough" or too aggressive feel when it goes into 2nd. This happens once in a while, and only while accelerating from 1st to 2nd under light throttle.

Anyone else experience anything similar?

I have a 2006 v6 and I experience the same problem now and then. I have no idea why it happens though

Good to know I'm not the only one.

I wonder if it's related to the two-piece driveshaft, which results in some slop in the drivetrain?

I have a 2006 V6 and it happens to me once in a while as well. It's really kind of rare for me so I never really bothered complaining.

Hello!

If the noise becomes more concerning, and you are unable to determine why it is occurring, you may want to consider visiting the dealer for diagnosis. They will be best able to make sure that everything is functioning correctly. Let me know if I can help in any way!

I appreciate it Natasha.

It's not really a noise, more of a feel. Like an aggressive/hard shift. I may get it checked out, though I'm out of warranty, I may just wait if it reaches a point where it can be reproduced. Right now, it's not possible to reproduce on command.

Get a tune and it won't be a slushbox anymore.

I can ride 1st and 2nd gear smoothly with no problems. I have 4:10 gear but stock drive shaft. Possibly an issue with the stock tune.

Never had any issue of any kind with mine but then again I'm running a custom dyno tune which makes a huge difference

Default same thing

just recently bought a 2011 mustang with under 12k miles on it, I noticed under light acceleration between gears 1 and 2 the whole car jerks or lunges very very hard I am very worried this is a defect in the transmission or something and I want this car to last. I am not under the manufacturer warranty and they just replaced the throttle body on a recall and I forgot to mention it to them to look the lunging. If I accelerate past 2nd it doesn't happen it is very smooth, sometimes it does not happen at all. I can feel it building up and then downshifting very hard when it goes from 1st to 2nd then down to 1st again. It is almost like it is not catching on 2nd gear. There is also a problem with the acceleration after stopping and going. Example if I im accelerating then break then try to accelerate again. It hesitates its almost as if the throttle body or something is getting stuck closed.
