why not add the spark plug defoulers to help get it out of the path and less chance of throwing a code

Well just got an email back from Jim @ JDM and he said even with the high flows there is a chance I may not pass. He said even with the high flow metallics they have somethimes had problems with them throwing codes, so I am just going to throw the stock system back on and hook up an open filter intake for the 2010 m90 cars. Its better safe than sorry, and I honestly just want to be done and enjoy the car, so this is the best way to go about it.

Sorry to bring this thread back up, but I am taking the headers off on monday (various reason and I have 100% made up my mind so please dont try and change it) and was wondering if running my stock catted h pipe would be ok? I have searched and searched but cant find a straight answer. JDM said its fine but I just want to be 100% sure and hear experience with others. I was thinking of going with the pypes o/r x pipe and than when inspection time comes I just swap in the stock h pipe to pass, than remove it and put the o/r back on. Just looking for a straight up answer, are stock cats ok to run with my m90 and JDM dyno tune?

Since I have been on the forum I have yet to read a post where the stock cats failed and clogged the exhaust. However the high flow cats that are not metallic have caused some issues. You will be fine but if your gonna lose sleep over the issues buy metallic

I think your stock cats are fine. Somebody prove me wrong I've never heard of a stock cat failing with the boost a M90 could put out.

Now, just because I like to share the info, I run an O/R pipe and pass emissions in Mass with no problems. So its possible, you just need to find the right tuner

Stock H-pipe and stock cats are just fine with blowers. It seems as though you are agonizing over this a bit excessively. Nothing will happen to the stock set-up. It can handle it.

All I did was get shorties and 3" catback.....4 years ago. Still no issues, and none expected.

Alright just want to make sure the stock cats will be good. I asked tons of questions at JDM and they said they suggest the stock h pipe, as they have had problems with high flow metallic cats throwing codes due to the higher flow. I really just want to do this once and be done so I can enjoy the car after my dyno tune on the 15th.

strange they have had problems tuning with hi flows on a car. I havent thrown a code since my saleen install but whatever gets you over the hump to finally enjoy the car is worth it

Many tuners have had trouble getting high flows to work without throwing a code. If the cats are too high flow there isn't enough of a AFR change between the pre-cat O2 compared to the aft-cat O2.
