Mine used to do the same and thats why its not there anymore, but when it would do that I would put it back with some force and it would stay. Just the metal clip kept popping out of the trunk itself.

It's not a fixable thing. Look at the next picture. That plastic peice literally ripped off.

ouch. I was gonna say use some double sided tape on the metal pin that holds the back in place. But since that's broken, you might need a new one. try a junk yard, ebay or CL before the dealership.

Could the P/N be embossed on the inside of the plastic piece?

If so, I would recommend punching that into the Tousley Ford parts website and see what their pricing is... They have always been good on pricing for me.

Bone yard.
Don't pay more than 5 bucks for one.

I lost the pin for mine, so it's just chilling in my garage.

I'm actually thinking about finding the ring that looks ripped and putting some hardcore gorilla glue on it. It's worth a shot.

First things first; detail your trunk area!

A quick search on Tousley came up with $50 (no p/n) for what is called the trunk lamp assembly. So as Pascal recommended, I would look at some bone yards.
