Default Mesh for a Ram Air Hood?

Hey guys-

So ive had my type iv hood from cervinis a couple months now. Love it to death. But it still bugs me that the body shop that installed it never put any sort of grille behind the scoop. With a new CAI in there and a few road trips coming up, Im thinking it would be in my best interest to put some sort of a mesh behind it. Question being where to get a solid product for that application, and what to apply it with? I have nightmares about one of those things falling off and into the serpentine belt...

you can always contact Cervinis and inquire about the actual mesh...maybe they'll send it to you for free...that way, it's a perfect fit and no modding/cutting of new materials...

What do you think the best method of installation would be?

After you cut and bend (and paint flat black?) the mesh to perfect fit (use some type of pliers/wire cutters), you'll need some type of strong waterproof adhesive to glue it from the inside (Adhesive should not show from outside)...sorry, I don't know what the inside of the hood looks like...

I'm sure some other guys can chime in?

I think the grill is normally secured with a few screws into the fiberglass.

I installed that hood on a GT500 for a member here.
There are no provisions to install a grille so it has to be customized from scratch.

The way I did it, is by screwing small brackets (L shaped) into the inside brace of the hood to hold the stainless mesh I got for the job.
Not really hard to do, just have to know what you're doing.
I used to have pics for this but it's on a SD card that got locked... Sorry.

I bought this, cut it to fit and used some 3M "Automotive Acrylic Attachment Tape" cut in thin strips to attach it to my Cervinis Concept hood. Looks really good but was time consuming.

I'll have to post pictures.

I made 2 for mine out of a product called Shur Flo. Its a leaf prevention product for gutters. Took a piece of cardboard and made a pattern then transposed it onto the gutter product. Make 2 pieces for each hole and make the one you put on the back 3/4 inch longer on the ends. Then took a piece of bronze screen and traced it out as well. Sandwich them together and pop rivet them so they hold good. Then pop rivet them to the hood. Then I took a very good caulk that has adhesive properties and sealed it to the hood from underneath. That way if the rivets ever come loose, the inserts wont fall into the fan and then thru the radiator. Took all of 45 minutes. Hit me up if you want better directions
