Default 18x9 deep dish wheels, any sacrifice in drivability?

I have a 2007 Mustang Convertible 4.0 that we just bought with 60k on the clock. My wife & I bought this car for our summer vacations to travel around the country. I want to change out the 16x7 spoked wheels & like the look of the deep 18x9 dish Cobra R wheels with a 36mm offset, thinking about the 255/45-18 tires as far as size still looking into which tire brand.
(Description: Black Cobra R This is the all new revised Mustang Cobra R Deep Dish Wheels!
Fits the following years: 2005-2010 Ford Mustang Wheel Fitments
Construction: Aluminum Alloy
Finish: Black
Wheel Size: 18x9
Fitment: 2005-2010 Mustang GT|V6
Wheel Offset: +36mm
Bolt Pattern: 5X4.5" | 5X114.3
Warranty: 1 Year Finish / Lifetime Structure)

My concern is drivability, I don't want this to be a squirrely driver, tracking every groove on the freeway, anyone have these on a 2005-2010 Mustang that can attest to how they track the road, I'd rather sacrifice looks & go for the 18x8 standard offset if the 18x9 deep dish are going to effect the car negatively, thanks.

You should be fine. Tire size selection, alignment, and tire pressure will have more impact on the squirrely feeling than the rims in this case.

Before my current setup I had cobra r's 18x9s all the way around on my 2006 and I loved them. Just get good quality tire in the size you mentioned and you wont regret it.

I second tire selection is what effects tramlining...I have deep dish and my old KDW-2s found every single grrove. My Nitto-555s do not.

You'll love the ride with 18s, it's firm enough to let you get feedback and it wont be rough like 20s.

What makes a squirrely car is one that is set up with no toe or toe out for better turn in at AX and track days. Deep dish wheels won't effect it....get them and enjoy.

Man I've ALWAYS dug those deep dish black rims with the chrome outline you have. They just so SOOO muscly and MEAN bro.
P.S. I sent you a PM.

As long as the wheels and tires are balanced properly, you should have the exact same driving feel(likely better, due to wider tires/better contact patch) as the stock wheels.

You will notice bumps slightly more, but nothing near as bad as say 19s or 20s.

The best way to be happy with your purchase is to get tires that match the car's performance. Being a GT, you would want something that will have good grip off the line, but also decent lateral grip for when you want to hit the twisties!

I drive mine hard around corners and it's also my daily and I love the 18x9's up front, 18x10 in the rear. Go for it! You'll love it!

Reads a lot like from American Muscle... I've got Bullitts with pretty much the same set up and exact same rubber. Makes the stock rubber / tire combo feel like a Pinto in comparison... If it's from a place like AM.. they've done their homework and it works fine..
