Default differences in slp loudmouths?

so im looking at getting them and i noticed the loudmouths for the 05-10 are $340 and it looks like they are just tips. but if you look for the 04 and before they have SLP loudmouth shotgun resonaters that are $150. i was wondering if those paired with some regualar 3.5 inch tips would sound the same as the loudmouths for the 05-10 and it would be cheaper to do it..what do you guys think and here are the links the 1st is the 05-10 and the other is the resonater

I can only speak to the loudmouths. The tips are hollowed out if that makes sense. The inside is the same width as the exhaust pipes but where the tips get wider there are slits that allow the exhaust in. Its like 1/4 inch of hollowed out tip. probably to add a little more depth or texture to the note as opposed to just a straight through design.

I've had both. The Loudmouths have more insulation, or whatever it is called, on the inside than the resonators. The resonators are almost a straight thru, but not completely straight thru. Right now I have just the resonators and with the LTs it is loud. I personally would go with the resonators as they are cheaper and the louder of the two go.
