Default Opinions on new brakes?

Well I am in need of new pads and rotors, and I had a few questions. I tried the search, but it keeps telling me to go back and reload the page, which doesn't work, so I guess a new thread is in order. I have already decided on Hawk HPS pads all around (unless you have a better suggestion for about the same price), but I have no clue what rotors to order. I don't want anything super expensive, but they need to be a good upgrade, and they need to look good. I was thinking the powerslot ones on AM. I am also not looking to change out anything other then the rotors and pads, so please don't suggest that kind of stuff.

My other question is about pricing on stock parts. Does anyone have the prices of stock replacement pads and rotors (from Ford) or links to them? My parents said they will cover stock rotors and pads, but anything more I will have to pay, and I can't seem to find the prices my self. .

Thanks!

Those are FordMoCo parts/prices. Let me look around a little to see which brakes you could get into. I love my DBA cross-drilled/slotted rotors but they didn't come cheap. Good choice with the Hawk HPS's on all fours. I love them!

These power slot rotors were one option I looked into when I upgraded but decided to go through AM with the DBA's.

Hope this helps bud. Best deal I could find unless you trust sites like ebay and craigslist with stuff like this (I know I don't!).

If you can swing it, DO IT!

Both fronts and rears for $719.08 after forum discount.

Hawk HPS pads are good. Performance wise, solid OE rotors will be just fine. But looks wise, get what looks good to you then I guess. Just stay away from cheap e-bay slotted/cross drilled rotors.

Here is a good compromise. Crossdrilled and slotted but wont break the bank. Not a super performance rotor but a def upgrade over OEM for looks and bit of cooling. I know SD personally, he is a good guy and I def vouch for him. When I need new rotors eventually, I plan on buying mine from him.

Here's a link to the front rotors on his store.

Front $150

Rear $135

Link to somebody who wrote a review of the rotors after install...

This site looks like they have some nice slotted rotors for a decent price. They have ceramic pads as well, but have been out of stock on them. Take a look if you wish:

go to Rock Auto parts website. This is a huge distributor selling quality parts. Be careful, there many cheap, Chinese rotors in the market!

Wow, thanks for all the replies! I definitely have some research to do. I did find it odd that the total for stock pads and rotors was more then the total for HPS pads and SD rotors by over 100 dollars, and that the HPS pads and PowerSlot rotors were only around 50 bucks more then stock.

I have seen some complaints about the Hawk pads. Some people have had trouble with the spring tab breaking off during installation.
