What oil weight with blower?
Hi guys,
I'm in middle of supercharger install. I have been running 5/20 oil since the car was new. But with the boost, will the 5/20 get pushed passed the rings and cause a lot of bypass? Should I run a heavier oil or is 5/20 still ok?
Also - are you guys running 160 T-stats or sticking with 180's when boosted?
I'm doing the M90 with VMP500 kit......
Thanks!

Good question..I'm still running 5/20 Mobil 1 synthetic. I believe Roush did a ton of testing and the 5/20 oil is still fine. I would hope that if it wasn't still the ideal oil weight, they would have made a note (and a sticker) to run a different oil weight..I will still run 5/20 unless they state otherwise..

Ford sepcs stock engines to run 5w20 is so they can meet government CAFE standards I would run 0w30 or 5w30 if I were you. My kid has ran 5w30 in his 2009 GT since it was new and it has an Edelbrock E-Force supercharger on it. We both run Amsoil.
