Considering 4:10's

For my next mod i'm considering a set of 4:10's ..I would like to hear from the 05/06 owners out there who have had em installed..Did it pick the car up that much?..Any regrets in having them? How bad did it kill your gas milage?

I know my car is not a 3 valve but i went from the stock 3.27s to 4.10s and my mileage did not go down at all. It is not as much of a change from your 3.55s as it was for me.

At high speed on the highway, I think you would lose a little bit of efficiency because the RPs will be higher but as long as you keep your foot out of it it should be fine.

hahahaha! good luck with that. when that little unf unf of acceleration is there, it's hard not to slam your foot at every stop light. :D

i put on the 3.73's and it is still hard to keep my foot out of it...i could only imagine if i would have gone with the 4.10's. the only thing you are gonna do is lose top speed and have higher rpm's at those higher speeds. it's a good trade off though.

Dear Mac10chap,

I just want to compliment you on the look of your car...

It is "SMOKIN'"...

I also had the 3.73s installed and later a supercharger...

Best all around gear selection...

Strong acceleration, good highway performance and not too much gear for the addition of an S/C..

Best of Luck, Dave

Running 4:10 and recommend them, even with a blower. No noticible loss of MPG.

if traction becomes a problem, just go with more rubber

already got 295's out back (on a 10" rim)
