Default Want to go back to hids

I had hids in my old car, (chevy slobalt) and I miss them sooo much. I'm planning on putting the kit in my 10 v6 and all I need is a new pair of bulbs. There's just one problem: I have DRLs. Now I know that you can disable them by pulling the fuse, but would I run into issues with insurance since I'm disabling a safety feature? I heard horror stories of claims being denied because of this.

They can do something with the cars computer at the Ford shop to turn them on and off. I once took my '06 in for service, it never had DRLs, but when I picked it up later that day it suddenly had DRLs. I don't like DRLs so I took it back and said WTF. They plugged in their laptop and a few seconds later I no longer had DRLs.

DRLs are mandatory in Canada and I think in some states, so rather than make different headlights for the Canadian market they just go into the computer. Just have them turn off the option at the dealer and you should be clear to install your HIDs

Call Todd at Retro-Solutions and inquire... I believe he offers a relay to account for DRLs...

That relay seems to be the best option at this point. I called a few dealerships and they all said that it was a safety feature they were not allowed to disable.
