Worst Ride of My Life!

4 oz to 1 gallon solution of chlorine bleach (5.75% laundry type)...spray it all over the underside..skunk scent is an organic compound and the clorine will oxidize it...leave it on for about 15 mins..rinse it off...

I remember when I was very young my father had a Porsche and he hit a vulture
that was on the road. The smell was so bad and it stained in there so bad that even after trying MANY things to get it out, even professional help, he had to trade the car in because of it.
Talk about a big stink!

This is from Askville.Amazon.com No idea if it works but it sounds interesting. When our cat got sprayed, we went to the Vet and got special soap for like $20. Seemed to work well as we didn't notice a bad smell afterwards. But he didn't get a full shot from the skunk either. I also saw some recipes that called for using vinegar. Good Luck!!
No, not tomato juice
Get one of those 2-gallon pump up weed sprayers. Put in a half gallon of hot water, two quarts of 3% hydrogen peroxide, a couple tablespoons of dish soap, and a half a cup of baking soda. Shake well until all the baking soda dissolves.
Now spray every accessible place underneath the car, especially areas you think are particularly smelly. No need to rinse it off. Repeat a day later as needed.

As a kid I remember giving my dog a tomato juice bath after a skunk attack! My God is that stench strong. LOL Not sure I would try t juice on my car but some of the other ideas sound very good. Let us know what you did and what worked.

Update to the skunk saga.....I left the pony outside for the entire week to let it air out. By yesterday I could barely smell anything. Took it to the car wash and sprayed the wheel wells with high pressure soap. Let it sit for a couple of minutes and rinsed. The smell is now finally gone!!! Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions. I was lucky that I had another car to drive while the smell went away on its own.
