Go to a storage facility and rent a car sized storage garage for the winter...thats what I did last year, long story with my garage, but thank god I did because the snow we got was awful. My unit was even heated so I could continue to mess around with the car. The facility I went to was gated and locked so i knew my car was safe, besides it's was only 5 minutes away.

Well I can't give you mechanical recommendations but as a detailer I say you should store it in a heated, covered bay, buy a high quality car cover, and make sure to wash/wax/seal the paint before you put it away. Personally if I were to store my car I would clay it first as well.

Yup, detail it real nice. Good coat of wax. Definitely a climate controlled facility to avoid a lot of moisture. Get yourself a good cover and a battery tender. Leave the battery in the car on the tender, or take it out and keep it on the tender. Either way.

Poke around for a place. I have a guy close to me here that works on and restores muscle cars. He has a very large shop and uses most of it for storage in the winter.

The recommendations can be found in the hundreds of threads regarding this that pop up every fall...

I usually cry myself to sleep the first day.

Move south. No such thing as winter storage. She's ready and so are the roads, 24/7/365.

I came from Illinois and had to store both Stangs AND my boat. Talk about crying one's self to sleep...

Yeah Nuke, but then you have to live in the south.......

Try moving west instead!

Mine gets stored in an unheated, uninsulated garage with no cover every winter. It does get the battery tender hooked up and gets started at least once a month to keep everything lubed good. Got a Simonize cover to throw on it this year as well.

My routine? I put it in an unheated storage locker in mid-November and get it out Mid-April. Mice/Leaks are not a problem.

Fill up the gas tank.
Add a bottle of fuel stabilizer.
Put 2 - 1'x1' carpet remanents under each tire.
Put the driver window down about 1/2 inch.
Unhook the battery and hook up a battery tender.
Forget about it until March when I start dreaming about spring again.

I believe that starting it up occasionally just adds to condensation in/around the engine/exhaust etc, so I do not. Other opinions may be equally valid.
