Default Supercharged GT - Plugs - Hesitation

Hey all, I have a 2008 GT with Stage 3 Saleen kit installed with the 9lb pulley. Car has been hesitating a bit at low rpm after it’s been driven for a while, it’s mainly noticeable when leaving a stoplight under normal (slow) acceleration around 1500 – 2000 rpms. I don’t seem to notice the problem when the car is cold, or has only been driven for say 30 minutes.

The plugs have been in since I installed the kit in January 2010, which is about 25k miles ago. This has happened just over the past few weeks and the car has driven flawlessly up until now. I’ve got new plugs on order (gapped by Brenspeed), but was just curious if there is anything else I should be checking? Perhaps removing and cleaning the throttle body?

Thanks.

Clean the MAF, replace the air filter, maybe reload the tune and see if the problem continues.

25K is a lot on an FI car as far as plugs go. I'm gonna guess the problem may clear up right after you replace them. You'll get a lot of suggestions on plugs (brisk or autolite) but the main thing is to gap them properly. At your boost levels you'll probably want .032-.038 gap. Might check w/Saleen or Brenspeed first and ask.

american muscle has fuel fiters for like 15 bucks. another un-noticed maitanence piece that goes unchanged by most. but i dont see why people dont change them regularly. there cheep, easy to change, and lets face it, cars kinda need fuel to run.

I would guess it's the plugs. I know JDM recommend replacing the plugs at 20,000 miles on S/C cars.

Thanks guys, I've got plugs on order from Brenspeed... gapped properly. Should be able to get them in early next week. Hopefully that's the cure.
