Stop dome lights from turning on

Stop dome lights from turning on
Is it possible to stop the dome lights from coming on when you open the door and only have them turn on/off by hitting the switch? Is there a wire I can cut to do this? I just installed LED's in the footwells and I'd prefer for them to be the only lights that illuminate when opening the door.
Thanks,
Mark

If you pull down on the dome light/lights all you have to do is unplug it. Make sure the plug stays safe though and doesnt get lost in the headliner just incase you want to plug it back in.

Then the lights won't be functional at all. I still want them to work if I press the button, I just don't want to automatically turn on when I open the door/turn off the car.

button. One is power, one is ground, the other one is the control line from
the body computer that turns them on when the doors are opened. If
you disconnected that one, you should get what you want. If you pull down
the unit, you'll see where the single feed lines from the connector branch
off to the two switches. Use your VOM to figure out which one is switched
by the doors being opened (noting that it's probably a switched ground, and
not a switched power), and disconnect that one. I haven't done this, I
just did quite a bit of rummaging around inside that console to find power
for my Homelink unit...
