Default Antenna Question

Hey Guys,

Has anyone installed a retractable antenna on their mustang?
Is there even room in the fender for something like this?

If you have, could you include a pic of it installed and a link to purchase the antenna?

I have a 2006 V6 mustang with a GT front look.

Thanks.

pony package = my favorite grill, unfortunately not such an easy swap, so i did the next best thing, cut one up, added corral to my gt grill.

i like electric / automatic antennas, no idea why so many decent cars use these cheap a$$ screw on stuff, actually thats probably why, cheap.

last time i went through some effort i actually put 2 electric bosch antennas on mt 64 skylark (yeah, only one was actually connected to the radio), probably 20 years ago, time flies by.....

Ya, I am aware of the differences. That is my mustang, but I have the GT look now. I haven't had time to update the photo.

I've been on this forum for a few years and I don't remember anyone talking about retractable antennas.

I think it would be cool to have a retractable shorty antenna mounted on the rear.
I had a retractable one on my Buick years ago. After an ice storm, it froze the antenna and broke it so I paid $100 to replace it.

icestorm ??

just kidding, been there, didn't like it, done with that.

but i guess there are downsided to it. i would assume "modern day" units (like the one on my 1989 crown vic) have some kind of clutch within in case it gets stuck for any reason.

Have you seen those chrome surrounds for the GT fogs?
